Painted Photography - Art

My original photography in both digital and film formats, digitally painted in traditional mediums from luminous, transparent watercolors to rich, textured oils. This is not "open a photo in a program and click a button" photo painting. I employ the use of several different programs and varying methods to achieve my vision of each image (very little of which resembles anything close to the traditional "photo painting" process), and untold hours of work go into creating my digitally painted photography. I work very hard to maintain the essence of true watercolor, acrylic, soft pastel or oil painting in my images, right down to the texture of the digital canvas, and I absolutely love every minute of it when I'm not screaming in frustration (which oddly enough differs not at all from when I use actual watercolor paint and cold press paper). I'll be the first to admit I'm a much better artist when I have that most valuable of all brushes... the Undo button. It is important to note that because these pieces are for the most part created on a visibly textured canvas, a smooth print surface is recommended for wall art.
