"10cc - I'm Not in Love Lyrical Cloud"
A word cloud in black, blue, purple and gray, comprised of the most pertinent words appearing in the lyrics of 10cc's classic rock masterpiece, "I'm Not in Love." A groundbreaking though unconventional love song in which the vocalist (Eric Stewart) professes to not be in love as he illustrates exactly how much he is throughout the song, it was recorded with minimal instrumentation using the bandmembers' synthesized voices on looped tracks to provide the majority of the music. It was actually the band's secretary Kathy Redfern, not a professional vocalist, who was coerced into adding the iconic whispered "big boys don't cry" contribution to the vocal track. Part of my Lyrical Cloud series, paying tribute to the most iconic vocalists, bands and songs in modern musical history, and one of my all-time favorite songs.
