"1940s Times Square Rain II"
A digital soft pastel painting on canvas of men and women standing on the sidewalk at the corner of 42nd and 5th, sheltered by umbrellas, in a surrealist 1941 New York City in Times Square on a rainy day. I used brilliant hues of yellow, royal blue, lavender purple, fuchsia pink and black in my color palette. Second in a triptych series of three. Loosely based on vintage black and white street photography by John Vachon. Please visit my City Escapes art gallery to see the other two pieces in this series.
