Description
"Annapolis After Dark"
I've been working on honing my black and white photography editing skills in an effort to finesse a variety of moods, and mood with this one I got aplenty; a street photography scene of Main Street in Annapolis, MD on a Friday summer evening after dark. The scene includes storefronts, notably the upscale Tangerine and Lou Lou Boutiques, and the Café Normandie, a French restaurant with fare prepared by the award winning chef Jean-Louis that has been an institution in Annapolis for upwards of 32 years. Lit windows on the second floor of the storefronts and streetlights glow, as the traffic caught in motion moves forward below. Both diners within the restaurant and boutique employees chatting in Lou Lou's doorway bring the human element to the image. I used a low key style, just a touch of fade, and added just enough sepia to add warmth to the grays in the night time cityscape. Please visit my Black, White and in Between art gallery to see more monochrome photography, and my City Escapes art gallery to see more cityscape artwork.
