Description
"Bulbophyllum Orchid A-Dorabil 'Candy Ann' Collage"
A photographic collage triptych of my Bulbophyllum orchid, a-dorabil "Candy Ann," showing off her very first bloom. The image in the bottom right is how the orchid displays its flowers, the left and top right photos are taken from above the flower spike. Isn't she bizarre and wonderful in all her yellow-green and pink candy-striped beauty? Weirdest of all, the top of each flower resembles a dragon sticking out its tongue! This plant is so odd it definitely has found its rightful owner in me. Bulbos (what we orchiholics call them) are the largest genus in the Orchidaceae family, having more than 2000 species, and almost all of them are quite unusual. I've displayed my three images on textured backgrounds of different but coordinating colors, one each in navy blue, dark turquoise and deep pine green, and everything is framed in gray and black. All of these photographs also appear in my portfolio as separate images, please visit my Contemporary Botanicals art gallery to see them.
