"By Any Other Word"
A digital soft pastel pop art painting of a bouquet of roses in full bloom, in sumptuous hues of coral, blue, gray, peach and black. The title is a quote (often misquoted) from the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet, my favorite scene in Franco Zeffirelli's version of the Shakespearean classic, which also happens to be one of my favorite movies. "What's in a name? That which we call a rose

So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself."
