Artist's Description
"Dusty Purple Camellias in Watercolor"
A digital wet watercolor painting of three dusty purple camellias on a cotton rag paper canvas with a pale aqua blue wash. Camellias are indigenous to Southeast and East Asia, and their leaves are used to make tea. I used shades of dusty plum purple, mauve, yellow, green and touches of deep rose pink in my pretty flowers, and my painting includes the splashes, drips and color bleed one would expect to find in a traditional wet watercolor. This is one of my favorite floral pieces to date, and the 1500th image I have uploaded to my site. Frankly, I'm exhausted. While I go make more coffee so I can begin progress to the next milestone, please visit my Contemporary Botanicals art gallery to see more of my floral artwork.
