Artist's Description
"Electra"
A digital soft pastel portrait painting is my interpretation of Electra, the playful cat in the poem "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats." I used abstract shapes and shades of coral, pink, blue, gray, brown, white and yellow in my tribute to the literary character in the famous story. Loosely based on a photograph. Please visit my Jellicle Cats art gallery to see all the pieces in this series, and my The Zoo art gallery to see more of my animal artwork.

Though my artwork over the past 40 years has evolved from my early days of shooting on film to manifesting itself in many different forms of more contemporary media, from the delicate transparency of digital watercolor, to the no-holds-barred starkness of noir digital photography, to even the fanciful abstract-turned-conceptual properties...
