"Mourning the American Dream"
The first sign things were going very wrong happened with the advent of Trump's election and the appointment of his appalling staff, as we all watched the American dream for hopeful immigrants around the world die a slow, agonizing death. The social and political climate continues to erode to this day because the far right seeks a totalitarian government and they will not stop until they achieve it. My digital painting metaphorically depicts an early 20th century woman in grayscale, observing the decline of everything for which this country once proudly stood, which appears as an industrial city in dusty fading colors. It's your job to make sure the continued decline of this country does not happen. VOTE, no matter how hard the fascists try to make that to do... and they absolutely intend to do just that because it's the ONLY way they can succeed in imposing their abhorrent way of life on the rest of us.
