Artist's Description
"Revelry in Venice"
A digital pastel painting of two revelers aside a canal at the Carnival of Venice (Carnevale de Venezia), an annual Italian festival that coincides with our own New Orleans Mardi Gras. The extravagant Venetian costumes and volto masks are among the most stunning of any of the worldwide spring festivals. I used vibrant hues of cobalt blue, violet purple and just a touch of mauve on a black, white and gray background for the revelers. Loosely based on a photograph. Please visit my Portraiture art gallery to see more of my portrait artwork.
