"Sophrosyne III"

Sophrosyne (n.) a healthy state of mind characterized by incorporating self-control, moderation and a deep awareness of one's self, thus resulting in a state of true happiness.

Third in a triptych of fractal art designs representing the concept of sophrosyne through the stages of muddled unhealthy thought, the state of finding awareness through deep introspection, and finally a calm, healthy mind (this piece). I used soothing but happy and vibrant hues of pink, orchid purple, deep periwinkle blue, turquoise and aqua in my conceptual art trilogy, on a glossy black background (which represents the sea of information on which we find ourselves dwelling but cannot control, and should filter out as a source of unnecessary angst).
