A Japanese cherry tree blooms at the curb in the early morning light of New York City, in this digital painting created from my original photograph from the perspective of a doorway alcove. This is a new painting technique with which I am experimenting, and call "crazing." For this image I desaturated the majority of my photograph, leaving only the colors of pink, maroon and purple of the trees and blooming azalea, and then added a slight green cast to my desaturated grays and some additional deep maroon accents in the process of creating the digital art piece.
This artwork is available in a variety of framed and unframed gallery-quality giclee prints, home decor items such as velvety soft duvet covers, fabric shower curtains, and square and rectangular decorative throw pillows, as well as greeting cards and tote bags.
