Artist's Description

"The Longest Night"

A digital watercolor portrait of a young woman dressed in a sheer gown with billowing sleeves, who stands waiting in the shadows before an interior stone wall, deep in concerned thought. Does she wait with anticipation or angst? Perhaps she waits with both. I used neutral hues of taupe, beige and ivory on a cold press paper canvas texture for my moody portraiture, and added a light wash of color in dusty hues of sage green and coral pink to add a warm finish. Definitely an artist fave. Please visit my Portraiture art gallery to see more of my portrait artwork.

Though my artwork over the past 40 years has evolved from my early days of shooting on film to manifesting itself in many different forms of more contemporary media, from the delicate transparency of digital watercolor, to the no-holds-barred starkness of noir digital photography, to even the fanciful abstract-turned-conceptual properties...
