Description
"Orange Blossom Special Locomotive"
Created as a challenge for an altered photography contest, I have transformed this contemporary photographic image of the replica of the Orange Blossom Special's locomotive currently being restored at the Gulf Coast Railway Museum in Tampa, FL into an antique photo more representative of the period in which the original train traveled the mid Atlantic rails of the Pennsylvania Railroad from New York to Washington, D.C., the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad from D.C. to Virginia, and the Seaboard Air Line Railroad from Richmond to Miami. Known for its luxury rail transportation, the hope is to bring the train back to its former glory and eventually function as an excursion service. So yeah, while the actual train is being restored, I "unrestored" the photograph. Life is strange. The original photograph was taken by the contest administrator, Diane Fay Lyon, and can be found at Only A Fine Day on Fine Art America. Please visit my Transportation art gallery to see more of my contemporary and vintage vehicle artwork.
