Artist's Description
"Penguin in the Surf"
A Humboldt penguin swims and frolics in the ocean surf in a digital soft pastel painting in hues of blue, turquoise, aqua, gray, black and white. Not all penguins live in cold climates, the Humboldt is actually indigenous to Chile and Peru. Humboldts are considered vulnerable as a species, and almost all penguin species are listed as vulnerable, threatened or endangered. The largest extinct penguin stood as tall as a man and I would love to have one escort me to my next formal affair. Please visit my Avian Flights of Fancy art gallery to see more of my bird artwork... no actual flight required.
