"R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts Lyrical Cloud"
A word cloud in multicolor typography of the most commonly appearing terms in alternative rock band R.E.M.'s lyrics to the song "Everybody Hurts." Michael Stipe's striking vocals are especially suited to this single and get me every time I hear it. R.E.M. rose from the underground music scene and their punk-inspired sound eventually netted them over 85 million record sales and a well-deserved induction into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007, the first year they were eligible for the honor. The LA Times called R.E.M. one of the "most liberal and politically correct rock groups," and with good reason; the band has been known for bringing awareness to many activist concerns including environmental, feminist, gun control, historical preservation and human rights causes.
